MEADOWS OF KUSH KALYAN TREK
Adjacent to Uttarkashi, the region of Western Garhwal is a paradise for trekkers and adventure lovers. One of the most stunning regions in the area is the wide meadow of Kush Kalyan. It takes two days through thick forest and age old mountain villages to reach Kush Kalyan. The region is referred as the ‘Bugyal of Blessing’ and also called the Lake District of Garhwal as the higher reaches are decorated with multiple lakes.

3. Climb towards the east towards the Chuli La 3580m and gradually descend to the meadows of
Kush Kalyan. The trail from this point onwards follows broad green pastures.

Uttarkashi is located at 1158m in Western Garhwal. The Bhagirathi river which is later referred as the Ganga flows past the town. A little above Uttarkashi is the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. | Kush Kalyan is one of the largest bugyals in Garhwal. Right through the summer months its home to shepherds who arrive in large numbers with their flock. In the month of August the higher reaches of the region see the Brahma Kamal flowering in abundance. | Kush Kalyan meadows offer a dramatic mountain view of the twin peaks of Bandarpunch, multiple peak in the Gangotri region and the adjacent peaks of Jaonli and Draupti Ka Danda. |
