Directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, National Geographic’s Documentary FREE SOLO, is a stunning, intimate and unflinching portrait of the free soloist climber Alex Honnold, as he prepares to achieve his lifelong dream - climbing the face of the world’s most famous rock the 3,000 ft El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without a rope. This film captures the process leading to climb which goes back some 8 years. The film is not only inspiring but also offers multiple life lessons. On 15th of February, 2019, Free Solo won the Oscar for Best Documentary.
