The Langtang National Park is characterised by steep, jungle covered valleys at lower elevations, and wide, barren alpine valleys at the head of the valley. The Lantang region is the 3rd most popular trekking area in Nepal after the Everest and Annapurna region. This is due to the striking nature of the head of the valley and its proximity to Kathmandu. April is a good time to visit as the wildflowers and rhododendrons are blooming.
